PROPHYLAXIS FOR CHILDREN
Patients with removable brackets do not require any special tooth care. The teeth should be cleaned thoroughly as usual after every meal, with the relevant aids.
Brackets should be cleaned at least once a day, ideally with a separate toothbrush and toothpaste, prior to the bracket-free period. The clean bracket should then be kept in the intended bracket container.
It is recommended to clean occasionally with a special bracket cleaning stick.
Patients with fixed brackets need special care to prevent caries and gum disease. The treatment apparatus used means that there are certain surfaces and niches of the teeth that are more difficult to clean. For this reason your child will receive thorough training on the correct cleaning technique and advised on the selection of the rights cleaning aids (interdental brushes, toothbrushes, fluoride gel, etc.).
Regular check-ups and prophylaxis sessions with your local dentist continue to be necessary.
